Best Floral Arrangements for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is not too far away now (Sunday, May 14th for those needing a reminder)! If you’re wondering what you could give your mother to celebrate this occasion, look no further than a classic bouquet of flowers. They make a lovely gift to receive, and they go a long way to showing your thoughtfulness and appreciation for your mother.

  • Bouquet of traditional carnations. These colorful flowers were actually chosen as a tradition by the founder of Mother’s Day – Anna Jarvis. Back in 1907, Jarvis chose white carnations to be delivered on the first Mother’s Day memorial service, since they were her mother’s favorite flower. If you aren’t sure which color to go for, know that red carnations signify admiration while white ones are known to express good luck. If you can’t land on just one color, pick a bouquet of mixed carnations as a vibrant choice!
  • Bouquet of roses. Despite their reputation as a traditional flower for Valentine’s Day, roses have been linked to motherhood historically. In Ancient Greece, roses were thought to be symbolic of the goddess Isis (the ideal mother). While red roses symbolize passion and deep love, pink roses denote happiness and yellow roses traditionally point to friendship. These fragrant flowers can make a lovely Mother’s Day gift.
  • Floral centerpiece. Why not go a step further and use flowers to decorate the dining table in advance of a special Mother’s Day meal? Simply place some of your mother’s favorite flowers into a vase and make sure it is the centerpiece of the table. Prepare some of her favorite food and it will be a Mother’s Day to remember.
  • Basket flower arrangement. If you want to look past the traditional bouquet of flowers, you can always pick a beautiful wicker basket and place some of her favorite flowers or plants inside. These can even lay next to some gifts such as fruits, scented candles or anything you think might work!

No matter how you choose to deliver flowers to your mother this Mother’s Day, she will be sure to greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness.
